Friday night in downtown Orlando has one address for the LGBTQ+ crowd — Anthem Orlando, 100 N Orange Ave — and one name for the party itself: VIBE Fridays. Every Friday, all year, no cover, doors open in the afternoon and the room hits its peak just after midnight.
This is the guide to Friday nights at Anthem — what VIBE is, who’s on the decks, why Sapphic Fridays shares the calendar, and why downtown Orlando’s queer crowd defaults here every seventh day.
What is VIBE Fridays?
VIBE Fridays is Anthem’s flagship Friday night — a weekly residency curated around a rotating DJ lineup with DJ Mikhael Aaron as the anchor. The format is straightforward: open-format dance music that leans Latin, hip-hop, and house, big-room sound, a crowd that fills the floor by 11 PM, and no cover charge to walk in.
It runs every Friday. Same address, same time, different guest DJs — but always the VIBE format. If you’re new to downtown Orlando’s LGBTQ+ nightlife, this is the easiest first-Friday to land on.
Who’s on the decks
DJ Mikhael Aaron holds down VIBE most weeks. His set is the sound of the room — a queer-crowd staple, deep bench of edits, and the kind of programming that reads the room in real time. Guest slots rotate in monthly, and Anthem’s 2026 global DJ lineup gives a good sense of the caliber that cycles through.
Every Friday also has Sapphic Fridays — Anthem’s sapphic and queer-women-forward night, DJ’d by Nani Soul. Same building, complementary programming, one of the most consistently packed weekly LGBTQ+ women’s nights in Central Florida. Follow her at @djnanisoul for lineup drops.
What Friday night at Anthem actually looks like
- 3–7 PM: Happy Hour Monday through Friday. 25% off your full check plus a $12 Happy Hour menu. Friday’s the busiest of the five — arrive by 5 to grab a seat before the after-work rush.
- 7–9 PM: Room resets between happy hour and club. Kitchen still runs. Music is warm and conversational.
- 9–10 PM: Doors are official 21+ from here. Cover: free. ID scan at the door.
- 10 PM–close: VIBE Fridays main set. DJ Mikhael Aaron or the announced guest headliner takes the booth. Sapphic Fridays crowd fills in alongside. Peak arrival window is 11 PM to midnight.
Why VIBE Fridays works
Downtown Orlando has a lot of Friday-night options — sports bars along Orange Ave, dive spots on Church Street, and the mixed straight/queer club scene. What sets VIBE apart:
- The crowd knows the DJ. Anthem regulars come to VIBE for Mikhael’s specific sound. When a resident DJ has a real following, the room reads different.
- No cover. That’s the standing rule for weekly programming at Anthem — special events aside, weekly nights don’t charge at the door.
- Two nights in one room. VIBE + Sapphic Fridays running side by side gives Fridays a more mixed queer crowd than most single-format LGBTQ+ nights. Better for coming with friends who don’t all lean the same way.
- Big-room sound. Anthem was built as a nightclub, not converted from a bar. The system moves air.
First-time-visitor cheat sheet
- Dress code: Nightclub casual. Anthem does not enforce a strict dress code — wear what you want to dance in.
- 21+ after 9 PM. Valid ID at the door.
- Cash bar / cards accepted. Tabs open. Tip your bartender.
- Coat check available on cold-weather Fridays. Downtown Orlando averages 60s at night in winter.
- Photos welcome. The dance floor tags @anthemorlando all weekend.
Getting to Anthem for a Friday night
Anthem is at 100 N Orange Ave, on the corner of Orange and Central. Central Boulevard Garage and SunTrust Center Garage are the closest paid options. Street parking on Central is free after 6 PM on Fridays. Rideshare drop-off is directly at the Orange Ave curb — Friday-night pickup surge is real, so consider pre-booking a return for 2:30 AM.
The rest of the week
If you’re building a weekend, Anthem’s Fridays roll straight into Harmony Saturdays and then Renaissance Sundays (Sunday Funday from 2 PM). The full weekly rhythm is captured in our Summer 2026 in Downtown Orlando hub, and the deeper year-round tour is in the Anthem Orlando events guide.
This Friday, and every Friday
VIBE Fridays doesn’t take Fridays off. It’s the same location, the same format, and — most weeks — the same DJ that downtown Orlando’s queer crowd has trusted since Anthem opened. Free entry, 21+, 100 N Orange Ave. Come dance.
