Why Anthem?

We chose the name Anthem because it represents more than music—it’s a movement.

An anthem is a rallying cry. It’s the song you sing when words aren’t enough. It’s what unites voices across backgrounds, struggles, and victories into one powerful chorus. For our LGBTQ+ community, it’s the sound of survival, of celebration, of finally being seen. From dancefloor classics to protest chants, our anthems have always carried us forward.

Anthem is our love letter to that spirit.

This space was created as a tribute to the beats that raised us, the queens who taught us resilience, and the people – past and present -who fought so we could dance without fear. Here in Central Florida, we wanted to give our community not just a nightclub, but a place that feels like a declaration: We’re here, we’re proud, and we are not going anywhere.

At Anthem, every light show, every drag performance, every bass drop is part of a bigger story – our story. It’s your story too. Whether you’re living your truth loudly or just beginning to find your rhythm, this is your stage, your sanctuary, your anthem.

What does Anthem’s logo represent?

The pink triangle is one of the most powerful and painful symbols in LGBTQ+ history. Originally used by the Nazi regime to mark and persecute queer people, especially gay men, it was a badge of shame, meant to isolate, dehumanize, and erase. But like our community has done time and time again, we took what was meant to destroy us and turned it into a symbol of resistance, resilience, and pride.

At Anthem, we honor the pink triangle not to dwell in the pain of our past, but to recognize the strength it gave rise to. It reminds us of how far we’ve come, and how much further we’re determined to go. When we light up the triangle, when we wear it as Anthem’s logo proudly, when we build our community beneath its glow, we are declaring that we will not be erased.

We reclaim the pink triangle as a beacon. A call to remember those we lost, especially here in Orlando. A tribute to those who fought. And a promise to every generation that follows: we will keep pushing forward, louder and prouder than ever.

The triangle now points upward. Forward. Toward a future we’re building together: where queer joy isn’t radical, it’s radiant. Where no one has to live in hiding. And where every anthem of resistance becomes a song of celebration.
