The Halloween Drag Showdown at Anthem Orlando is a competition night — queens compete, judges score, the crowd votes, cash prizes get handed out. Friday, October 30, 2026. Doors 9 PM. This is our annual pre-Halloween competition and it’s the drag event Orlando’s queens circle on their calendars.
How the Showdown works
Six to eight queens compete across three rounds:
- Round 1 — Signature Look: Each queen opens with a lip sync in their own signature Halloween look. Judges score on look, performance, and stage presence.
- Round 2 — Twist Challenge: A twist theme announced day-of. Queens have 20 minutes backstage to adapt. Judges score on adaptation and creativity.
- Round 3 — Final Two Lip Sync For Your Life: The two highest-scoring queens face off in a head-to-head. Crowd volume determines the winner.
Prize structure
- Winner: Cash prize + guaranteed booking slots on the 2027 Anthem calendar
- Runner-up: Cash prize + one 2027 booking slot
- Audience Favorite (separate vote): Cash prize

Who competes
Competitors are drawn from Anthem’s regular cast (including Anita Bettername, April Fresh, Kitana Gemini) plus guest queens from Orlando’s wider drag scene and one or two national queens flown in for the night. Full roster confirms the week of.
Who judges
Judging panel rotates each year — typically includes a national-recognition drag artist, an Orlando drag community elder, an Anthem team member, and a rotating guest judge from adjacent industries (fashion, entertainment, hospitality). Judging is scored, not vibes.
Why this is the drag event to see
Regular drag nights are performances. Competitions are theater — the stakes are real, the numbers are polished harder, and the queens bring their A-game because their bookings depend on the outcome. The Halloween Drag Showdown is our biggest scored competition of the year, and the results show up in the 2027 Anthem booking calendar the following January. If you love drag, this is the night to be in the room.
