Saturday, October 31 — Halloween Night at Anthem
Anthem’s Halloween Night is the downtown LGBTQ+ costume party. Doors 9 PM. Full production, circuit DJ, drag headliners, and a costume contest with cash prizes. Categories run: Best Group Costume, Best Solo, Best Drag Interpretation, Most Ridiculous. Judges are our resident queens plus a rotating guest judge from Orlando’s drag community.
The room dresses to the theme — expect production lighting shifted into red/purple/black, thematic haze, and a room that looks nothing like it does the other 51 weekends. Bring your look. This is the night to put in effort.
Halloween at Anthem vs. the alternatives
- Halloween Horror Nights (Universal): Scares, walkthroughs, immersive haunted houses. Best for: horror fans, tourists, non-dancers.
- Howl-O-Scream (SeaWorld): Same but at SeaWorld. Best for: same crowd, different park.
- Halloween Pub Crawl (downtown): Multi-bar crawls Oct 25, 26, 31 with drink specials and costume contests. Best for: variety, meeting people, casual costumes.
- Anthem Halloween Night: Full LGBTQ+ costume party, circuit-level production, drag competition. Best for: dancers, drag lovers, big group nights, taking Halloween seriously.

Halloween costume ideas that work in a nightclub
Real talk on the room: Anthem’s dance floor gets warm. Costumes that let you actually dance for four hours read best. Group costumes crush the contest. Drag interpretations (male-to-female, female-to-male, gender-optional, group ensembles) always score. Full-face makeup that survives Florida humidity requires proper setting spray — plan for it.
Skip: anything that can’t sit on a barstool, anything with a full mask you can’t drink through, and anything appropriating a culture that isn’t yours.
